XivRug
A little woven Eorzea beneath your feet.
An independent woven map rug beneath your character, with terrain contact, Wayfinder routes and optional XivPiano music visuals.
prototype · selected scenes observed; terrain and performance checks continue. Selected flat scenes and Journal overlap were observed in earlier builds. Current diagnostics have offline validation. Continuous terrain, stairs, device resets, frame cost and music visuals still require acceptance.
A woven map underfoot
A connected cloth rug carries the current game map beneath your character. Choose a circular mat or rounded rectangle, adjust map coverage and cloth appearance, and show Wayfinder’s route when it is installed.
Music in the weave
With XivPiano, played audio can ripple through the cloth or drive ten optional 3-D visualizations. Reduced-motion settings stop musical motion, and missing or stale audio makes the visuals quiet. Rug does not require Piano or Ghostty.
A prototype with measured limits
Selected flat scenes, map imagery, foliage occlusion and native Journal overlap have been observed. Continuous terrain coverage, stairs, stacked floors, jumping, device resets and frame cost remain under development. Native composition hides the rug when its required rendering stage is unavailable.
Controls and compatibility
/rug opens settings. Music, cloth motion, jump catch and optional local visual poses have separate controls. XivRug does not move or teleport your character. Existing development installs may be named XivFloorMap: preserve their settings and disable that copy before loading XivRug. The source retains a compatibility build; these are one project.
Diagnostics for your assistant
XivMcp can discover Rug and read its renderer, terrain, composition, map and music status through the new read-only status interface. The interface does not start terrain probes or change settings.
Install and build
Add https://spacegho.st/mods/ffxiv/plugins.json in Dalamud’s Experimental settings and enable plugin testing builds. These are experimental builds. The installation page explains the repository and the build-it-yourself path.
Dalamud API 15; Wayfinder and XivPiano integrations are optional. No Ghostty dependency.
Build instructions and verification records are in the project README.
